Burns caused by exposure to high temperatures. Depth from entering burning depends on the intensity and duration of exposure.

Clinic, burns manifest differently depending on the depth of lesions. Describe the following degrees of burns:

Degree burns: the area affected is becoming red and eventually swell and is painful. Heal in a few days, passing through a stage of peeling. The area may remain intensely colored, and after healing.

Degree burns II presents more bubbles (Basic) that occur immediately or several hours after exposure and can break giving rise to erosion of what is covered husk. Healing is usually slower.

III degree burns interested deeper layers of the skin. Healing occurs with characteristic scars.

Prognosis of burns depends on their degree, but the size of area affected, patient age, preexisting diseases or the occurrence of secondary infections.

Local treatment in burns of grade I and II can begin showing the affected area with water-jet low pressure (possibly diluted alcohol), a measure that can be applied immediately the patient himself. Continued use may be in the degree burns, cortical in the form of creams, sprays or lotions. In case of burns of grade II bubbles intact, they will not be open but, at most, punction with a sterile needle. Areas have to be washed with antiseptic solution and then applied to cortical topic in combination with antiseptics or antibiotics.
