Very dry skin often turns on eczemas. If you suffer from eczema, you may have turned to the internet or asked your doctor about treatment options. There are many ways to treat eczema, but they arent one-time things. To successfully manage and deal with eczema, you must make important lifestyle changes.

A dry skin problem can be uncomfortable and even maddening. Your skin might feel tight and painful; it might look dull or red or flaky. Worst of all is the itchiness. The sort of overwhelming itchiness that makes you feel like you’re infested with fleas, that keeps you awake at night, miserably raking your skin with a back scratcher.

In winter, low temperatures, low humidity and strong, harsh winds deplete skin of its natural lipid layer, which keeps the skin from drying out. The dry air from furnaces and other heating sources also suck the moisture out of skin. To keep skin soft and supple, your goal is not to add moisture to skin, but to keep moisture in. These 25 tips show you how to do this.

Dryness is exacerbated by wind, extremes of temperature and air-conditioning, all of which cause the skin to flake, chap and feel tight. This type of skin is tightly drawn over bones. It looks dull, especially on the cheeks and around the eyes. There may be tiny expression lines on these spots and at the comers of the mouth.
